In the Know - A new search engine from Fifth Freedom is granting Hoosiers with disabilities a more accessible way to search the World Wide Web.
The statewide advocacy organization introduced IndianaPop.org on June 2nd, along with the site's slogan: "Searching for disability services online can be like digging for a needle in a haystack. But now you have a magnet."
Doug Schmidt, director of communications at Fifth Freedom, explained that search results are pared back to tailor them for Indiana users. An array of accessibility features are also available, including ways to adjust the contrast for people with visual impairment.
According to Schmidt, a survey found 95% of users reported the engine was easier to use than popular search engines. Click here to try it for yourself.
