In the Know - Indiana State Treasurer Kelly Mitchell has recently announced a new savings program, INvestABLE Indiana, which will allow residents with disabilities to save money without the risk of losing their benefits.
Prior to this, individuals with disabilities could lose their government benefits if they had $2,000 or more in personal savings. Under the new program, they are able to save up to $14,000 every year, with a cap limit of $100,000.
Launched on July 27th, INvestABLE Indiana is accessible to anyone whose disability was onset before the age of 26, and who is receiving Social Security benefits.
