In the Know - The Tennessee Department of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (DIDD) has been engaged with people supported in efforts to change community inclusion policy for more than two decades.
Alongside Person-Centered Thinking and Employment initiatives, additional partnerships have seen the inclusion of Discovery Process Training, as well as a self-advocacy training program initiative.
Since 2012, Tennessee has been focused on becoming a true Person-Centered System, with statistics showing an above-average level - when compared to national data - of both available supports and community outcomes.
You can find more information about the DIDD's journey through the years and data gathered from Personal Outcome Measures® here: https://c-q-l.org/resource-library/resource-library/all-resources/our-evolution-toward-community-inclusion
